Since December of 2004, the Accessibility Working Group, a subset of the Web Site Accessibility Committee, has been reviewing the existing Universal Web Site Accessibility Policy for State Web Sites - Version 4.0 and working on a proposal for an updated policy. Additionally, the Working Group has also drafted a new Web Site Accessibility Policy.
Each item on the existing Checklist of Design Requirements http://www.cmac.state.ct.us/access/policies/accesspolicy40.html#Checklist was entered into a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has been imported into the database used on this web site.
Each item was then mapped, where possible, to a WCAG Guideline (including Checkpoint and Priority) and/or Section 508 standard.
We then removed from the checklist four types of requirements:
Note that no WCAG Priority 2 Guidelines were removed during this process.

For some of the requirements that the Working Group is proposing be kept, we are recommending changing the language to either the WCAG language or the Section 508 language.
